Back lit

The late afternoon sunlight seemed to pick it's battles amongst the deep shadows. It appeared behind this one purple plant (it grows like a weed in our garden....anyone know what it is? It has three leaves like a clover.)

  1. Hi Chris~Love the shadow it created on itself. this is just a purple clover. when it grows it will get a little yellow flower. they will spread...as you may well know...

  2. This is oxalis or 'wood sorrel', some 900 varieties...when I was little, I used to lay in the grass at my grandparents cottage and nibble on the leaves of the sweet sorrel, oh so sweet, thanks for the memories!

I have so much enjoyment with my little camera. Even look at slugs differently now.

  5. Isn't it funny how the pesky plants (weeds) are pretty to look at!??
Your pesto dish last night sounds wonderful! I just wanted to let you know that Catherine shook it up a bit and went out into our herb garden to show us that if you don't have one herb (since basil is an annual) grab another one instead - all of her pestos were amazing! She even made one with lavender, chive blossoms, sage and greek oregano - all outside of our door - fabulous! Substitute something else for the basil - you'll love it!
